Thursday Westside Ride: Leaves at 10:00 AM from Jessie Mays Park in North Plains (take exit 57 from Hwy 26—go north on Glencoe Rd 0.5 mi—left on Hillcrest St—park is on right.) The destination is Maggie’s Buns in Forest Grove for a coffee/snack break. Distance 38 miles. Much of this ride is flat rural roads on the Tualatin Valley Scenic Bikeway. Traffic is very low. Re-group ride with an average of 16-18 mph. Ride pace details: Some of the riders may ride faster than the above mentioned pace but we will happily regroup every 5 miles for anyone who can ride 16 mph on the flat.
Friday Morning Quickie: Leaves at 10:00 AM from the parking lot of Our Savior Lutheran Church, 11100 NE Skidmore, Portland. Distance 20-40 miles. This ride goes to North Portland and stops for a break at a local coffee shop. Non-group ride, but group ride options usually available. PWTC REACH THE BEACH TRAINING RIDE. Vancouver and Blue Lake Park. Distance 52 miles. Shorter variations available. Leaves at 9:00 a.m. from Wilshire Park at NE 36th and Skidmore. Enjoy some city riding heading west; follow the Columbia heading back east and then up to Vancouver, Washington. Cross the Glenn Jackson Bridge and opt to cruise out to Blue Lake and back or not! Shute Park at SE 8th & Maple in Hillsboro with parking behind the Senior Center. Directions to start: Expect 12-15 minutes drive from Highway 26 and Cornelius Pass. Head south on Cornelius Pass Road from Highway 26 (0.9 mi.) Turn right on NE Cornell Road (4.1 mi.) Turn right on E. Main Street (0.3 mi.) Turn left on 7th Avenue (0.5 mi.) Turn left on Maple (500 feet) The destination is the Subway in Banks. Distance is 38 miles. Most of this ride is on flat rural roads and traffic is very low. Re-group ride with an average of 16-18 mph.
Saturday Morning Medley: 25-50 miles. Leaves at 9:30 AM from Wilshire Park, NE 36th and Skidmore, Portland OR Type: Non-group ride. Difficulty: A/B/C/D, depending on which route you take. Multiple options will be offered. Join the ride leader for the "ride du jour" or pick a ride of your choice. Maps include the relatively flat 35-mile Kelly Point/Two Bridge Loop, Lacamas Lake Loop, West Hills, and a variety of in-town routes. NE Park Trek: Distances 20 miles. Leaves at 10 a.m. from Wilshire Park, NE 33rd Avenue & Skidmore. Park along the park on Skidmore down by 35th and 36th. Explore the bike friendly city of Portland. We’ll distract ourselves from the cold by counting parks. Build your skills and test your mettle. Mostly flat and easy. You don’t need to be training for Reach the Beach but this is a good ride for those doing shorter distances on May 20. Caters to novice/slower riders. Pace 12-15 mph with modifications for specific group.
Sunday Morning Social. Distance 15 to 25 miles. leaves at 10:00 AM from the Tri-Met Park & Ride, NE 96th and Sandy Blvd. Join us on these moderately paced group rides around the Portland area that feature a stop at a bakery or coffee shop somewhere along the route. Group ride. Level B. Pace 13/14 mph.
Monday Morning Meander: Leaves at 10:00 AM from NE 99th and NE Irving Portland OR. Distance 20-40 miles. There are 100 ways to get from the Gateway Transit area to Jazzy Bagel in Gresham. Come explore them all! Despite the variety of ways, there are usually just 2 or 3 distances available on these loops through the East County area. Non-group ride.
