Hill Climbing 101 -Portland Bicycling Club

Hill Climbing 101

Description

Come and join us for some climbing and descending practice. This ride is for anyone, but may be particularly good for riders who are slightly intimidated by rides with significant elevation gain (if interested climbing tips will be discussed) or for those who need cardio and muscle strengthening in preparation for a tour. The two main ascents are Rocky Butte and Mt Tabor. We reach Mt Tabor at 16 miles, where we will take an extended break for lunch - pack a hearty snack or sandwich because we will not be stopping at a cafe.
RIDE IS CANCELED IF THERE IS HEAVY RAIN.

Length: 24 miles, with 1,600 ft of climbing; time approximately 3-3.5 hours
