Slow Hill Ride: Mt. Tabor Repeats -Portland Bicycling Club

Slow Hill Ride: Mt. Tabor Repeats

Description

Back for another spring/summer season. The Slow Hill Ride Series is designed for those who want to increase their hill climbing ability but aren’t necessarily concerned with speed. While riders are welcome to take a map/cue sheet and go their own speed, no rider will be left behind. The ride leader will regroup with those who want to stay together. So come out and get that heart pumping and those thighs strong to reach your riding goals. Please park on the street (if the Dental Van is present) and meet on the sidewalk along 41st Ave. Today we'll cover 720 – 1811 feet of elevation. From 41st and Woodstock, we’ll head over to Mt. Tabor and climb to the top via the east side. Once at the top, we’ll spend one hour looping down to the reservoir on the west side and back to the top. This is a 2-mile loop with 218 ft of elevation gain. The map shows only one loop, so each additional loop will give you another 218 ft of elevation gain. After one hour we will regroup at the top, then descend on the west side via Lincoln and stop for coffee at "Rain OR Shine Coffeehouse" at 60th and Division. The last 4 miles is flat to the start.
