Slow Hill Ride: Triple Volcano
The Slow Hill Ride Series is designed for those who want to increase their hill climbing ability but aren’t necessarily concerned with speed. While riders are welcome to take a map/cue sheet and go their own speed, riders will not be left behind. The ride leader will regroup with those who want to stay together. So come out and get that heart pumping and those thighs strong to reach your summer riding goals. Please park on the street and meet on the sidewalk along 41st. Today we'll cover 1783 feet of elevation. From 41st and Woodstock, we’ll head out Flavel and up the steep side of Mt. Scott and down Deardorff. We’ll catch the Springwater Trail heading west and then the I-205 bike path north to Market where we’ll stay on streets to Halsey. The next climb is Rocky Butte. We’ll descend on the east side and head to Mt. Tabor via Tillamook and 74th Ave. Once we crest Mt.Tabor, we’ll descend via Lincoln and make a well-earned stop for coffee at "Rain OR Shine Coffeehouse" on 60th and Division. From there it’s a relatively flat 4 miles back to the start.
